Colourlock Binder neutral, 250 ml

Neutral is a slightly filling, stable yet flexible liquid binder.

Surface-dyed smooth leathers can develop extensive cracks over time, a typical sign of the ageing process. In such cases, a simple colour refresh with Leather Fresh does not provide the necessary stability, while the affected areas are too large for a targeted repair with Fluid Leather. Binder Neutral can help to strengthen the damaged areas and slow down further deterioration.

Note: Even after treatment, the leather will no longer return to its original condition.

Using Binder Neutral should be understood as an interim solution and approaches the point at which complete leather replacement is necessary. For severely damaged or extensively affected areas, it should therefore be carefully considered whether replacement with new leather would be the more sensible and economically viable long-term decision. Neutral is primarily suitable for areas that are no longer subject to heavy daily use.

CAUTION: The aim of the treatment is not to restore the original condition, but to extend the remaining service life. If you are unsure, do not hesitate to contact us.

Please read the notes below carefully before every application!

• Clean the repair area with Leather Cleaner mild without making it too wet. Avoid overly open-pored damaged areas.
• Thoroughly degrease the repair area with Leather Cleaning Spirit or Degreaser so that the repair products can adhere sufficiently.
• Carefully smooth the rough area with the Sanding Pad without enlarging the damage. Apply Binder Neutral with a sponge and allow it to dry on its own between applications (without a hair dryer).
• After drying, the surface will be rough because of the dried binder. Smooth these rough areas with the Sanding Pad and wipe away the sanding dust with Leather Cleaning Spirit.
• Repeat the process until no further improvement can be achieved. If deeper damage remains, it can be filled with Fluid Leather.
• Colour matching over the whole area is done with Leather Fresh. For large-area colour matching, Leather Fresh must be applied several times using a dabbing or circular motion. Dry with a hair dryer after each application and even out irregularities with the Sanding Pad.
• Finally, one day later, care for matt surfaces with Leather Care and glossier surfaces with Elephant Leather Preserver. Regular future care once or twice a year considerably extends the service life.

• Always test the product first in a concealed area for changes.
• Shake before use.
• Never apply the product directly to the leather; always apply it to the cloth or sponge first.
• Protect from frost and heat (+40 °C)
