Colourlock Binder neutral, 1 litre

The Neutral colour is a liquid binder that is slightly filling, stable yet flexible.

Over time, surface-dyed smooth leather may develop widespread cracks, a typical sign of the ageing process. In such cases, simply refreshing the colour with Leather Fresh does not provide the necessary stability, while the affected areas are at the same time too large for a targeted repair with Fluid Leather. Binder Neutral can help stabilise the damaged areas and slow down further deterioration.

Note: Even after treatment, the leather will not return to its original condition. 

The use of Binder Neutral should be understood as a temporary solution and is close to complete leather replacement. For severely damaged or extensively affected areas, it should therefore be carefully considered whether replacement with new leather would be the more sensible and economically viable decision in the long term. Neutral colour is primarily suitable for areas that are no longer subject to heavy daily use.

CAUTION: The aim of the treatment is not to restore the original condition, but to extend the remaining service life. If you are unsure, do not hesitate to contact us.

Please read the notes below carefully before every application!

• Clean the repair area with Leather Cleaner mild without making it too wet. Avoid damaged areas that are too open-pored.
• Thoroughly degrease the repair area with Leather Cleaning Spirit or Degreaser so that the repair products can adhere sufficiently.
• Carefully smooth the rough area with the Sanding Pad without enlarging the damage.
• Apply Binder Neutral with a sponge and allow it to dry by itself between applications (without a hairdryer).
• After drying, the surface is rough because of the dried Binder. Smooth these rough areas with the Sanding Pad and wipe away the sanding dust with Leather Cleaning Spirit.
• Repeat the procedure until no further improvement can be achieved. If deeper damage remains, it can be filled with Fluid Leather.
• Even out the colour over the entire area with Leather Fresh . For colour matching over large areas, Leather Fresh must be applied several times using dabbing or circular movements. Dry with a hairdryer after each application and even out irregularities with the Sanding Pad.
• Finally, care for the leather one day later with Leather Care on matt surfaces and Elephant Leather Preserver on glossier surfaces. Regular future care once or twice a year significantly extends the service life.

• Always first test the product in a concealed area for changes.
• Shake before use.
• Never apply the product directly to the leather; always apply it to the cloth or sponge first.
• Protect from frost and heat (+40 °C)
