Trusted quality in a new design: You previously knew this product as Colourlock Leder Fresh Tönung. We have revised the item to provide you with even better service.

Description

Over time, everyday wear leaves its marks on leather surfaces. Scratches, scuffs and slight fading are common signs of use that can detract from the appearance of the leather. However, a complete repaint or costly replacement is usually not yet necessary in such cases. Our Leather Fresh smooth-leather colourants offer a simple and effective way to specifically refresh the leather’s original colour and easily conceal colour damage.

Leather Fresh is suitable for a wide range of leather items, from car and furniture upholstery to bags and leather jackets, as well as shoes, boots and saddles. Whether individual scratches, extensive scuffs or slight fading caused by UV radiation: Leather Fresh restores the colour intensity of affected areas and ensures an even, well-kept overall appearance.

Targeted application allows damaged areas to be dabbed and blended step by step until the desired result is achieved. Leather Fresh is therefore an economical and effective alternative to professional refurbishment – ideal for anyone who wants to care for their leather themselves and keep it in an attractive condition. IMPORTANT: Leather Fresh does not rub off onto clothing.

TIPS & TRICKS for using Leather Fresh

Leather Fresh refreshes the colour. We have 46 standard colours and mix colours according to a sample or manufacturer’s name. Please note the information on the colour chart.

  • Always first check in a concealed area whether the colour is a correct match before working on a large area.
  • Leather Fresh is suitable for recolouring small areas only!
  • Leather Fresh is a colour refresher for damage. At most, damaged areas are colour-refreshed from seam to seam. Areas without colour damage are not improved by a colour refresher. Only clean and care for such areas.
  • Leather Fresh can also be applied with a spray gun. The result is then more even, especially on very large areas.
  • Unevenly applied Leather Fresh can be evened out with the Leather Sanding Pad before another application.
  • Different Leather Fresh colours can be mixed together to adjust the colour. However, this requires a good eye for colour.
  • For local repairs, Leather Fresh can also be applied to artificial leather and plastics.
  • Always dry Leather Fresh with a hairdryer. This greatly speeds up the process. If you allow it to dry without a hairdryer, you will usually smudge the previously applied layers.
  • Only ever work at normal room temperatures! Leather Fresh does not dry well enough, especially at cold temperatures, and working in chilly conditions is no fun.
  • Allow yourself enough time for the work. Refreshing the colour of leather is only a quick job for professionals. Those who work calmly will also get better results.
  • For detailed spot work, Leather Fresh can be applied with the Mini Brush.
  • Stitching in a different colour requires particular care. It can be protected with our Stitch Covering Gel.

Application

Please read the instructions below carefully before each use!

  1. Clean

First clean visibly dirty leather with Leather Cleaner Mild or Strong. Do not work too wet in the damaged areas, as moisture penetrates there and makes the leather stiffer. For dirt in the grain, we recommend using the Leather Cleaning Brush.

  2. Roughen, sand

Rough areas, scratches and broken edges must be sanded with the Sanding Pad before refreshing with Leather Fresh. This process opens the pores of the leather, improving the absorption of Leather Fresh, and smooths the areas to be refreshed beforehand.

  3. Degrease

The areas must be thoroughly degreased with Leather Cleaning Spirit or Degreaser so that Leather Fresh adheres well. This applies especially to surfaces treated with leather care products and areas of skin contact such as armrests, headrests or steering wheels.

  4. Refresh

Now dab on Leather Fresh evenly and in circular motions using the supplied sponges. If possible, work from seam to seam and dry with a hairdryer in between. In most cases, several applications are needed to achieve the ideal result. Smooth out uneven applications with the Sanding Pad in between.

  5. Care

Whether cleaning, repairing or tinting/colouring, work on leather must always be completed with care or protection.

After applying the Leather Fresh colourant (step 4), care or protection should only be applied 24 hours later so that the colourant has sufficient time to dry.

Leather Care is the right choice for care, and Leather Shield for protection.
