Description

Although new leather is in perfect condition when delivered, without additional protection it is exposed from the outset to daily stresses without protection. Skin oils, dirt, moisture and UV radiation can become embedded in the surface even during the first few years and permanently impair the material. Early and regular protection is therefore the most effective measure for maintaining the leather's original condition for as long as possible, before the Smooth Leather Care Set is then used from the fourth year onwards.

The New Leather Care Set is ideal for gentle cleaning and reliable protection of leather upholstery in vehicles, leather furniture, including Long Life leather, and other leather upholstery. It combines material-friendly cleaning with a long-lasting seal that preserves the leather's natural appearance and feel, while effectively protecting against soiling, colour transfer and penetrating moisture.

New leather should be cared for and protected with Leather Shield during the first 3 years. New leather does not yet require replenishing care, but effective protection against abrasion and wear marks and colour transfer from clothing. In particular, the driver's seat (entry bolsters on sports seats and high support bolsters) or the seating surfaces of light-coloured furniture show signs of wear, soiling or discolouration within the first three years. The seal effectively prevents this.

Application

Please read the notes below carefully before each application!

Cleaning

After transferring it to the foamer bottle, dispense a little Leather Cleaner mild onto the sponge or Leather Cleaning Brush brown and clean the leather. It is important to clean all areas evenly in order to achieve a visually uniform result. The process can be repeated if necessary.

Sealing with Leather Shield

Rub a little Leather Shield into a soft cloth and apply a thin layer from seam to seam. Allow it to dry without subsequent polishing. The process can be repeated on more heavily stressed areas.

For stressed areas (entry bolsters, steering wheel), reapply every 3 months; for normally stressed leather, every 6 to 12 months.

Notes

  • Always first test products in a concealed area for changes.
  • Care and protection products should always be applied to a clean surface.
  • Shake products before use.
  • Protect products from frost and heat (+40 °C).
  • Observe hazard symbols on bottles, where present.
