Tears, holes and lifted leather edges are types of damage that can quickly occur on regularly used leather or through mishaps. If such damage is not treated promptly, it will spread and the material will become increasingly weakened. With the right tools and adhesive, however, many of these damages can be stabilised quickly and effectively before a more extensive repair becomes necessary.

The set provides a solid and reliable basis for targeted bonding of tears, holes, and lifted leather edges and fibres. The high-quality leather glue included impresses with strong adhesion while maintaining a flexible bond. This is important because leather is constantly subject to tensile and bending stresses, and a rigid bond would quickly break again.

The Leather Glue Repair Set is suitable for damage to furniture, car seats, bags and jackets. It is suitable both as an independent solution for minor damage and as an important preparation step before a more extensive repair with Fluid Leather or colour refreshing with Leather Fresh

Please read the instructions below carefully before each use!

Always apply only thin layers and use sparingly. For hard-to-reach areas or small edges, using the Mini Brush is recommended for even distribution. For the best result, we recommend allowing the leather glue to dry slightly and bringing the tears together edge to edge. When using the Backlining Cloth as a backing, press the glued surfaces together if possible to ensure optimum adhesion.

Tears and holes that are already larger but still repairable must be stabilised with the Backlining Cloth. Cut the fabric to size with sufficient overlap and mark the centre with a highlighter or small sticker. The marking makes it easy to see where the centre is so that the overlap is even everywhere. Secure the centre with a needle and use a spatula to smooth the edges beneath the leather. Then glue in place.

For breaks, superficial cuts or frayed worn areas, the glue must be applied sparingly. This is best done with the Mini Brush.IMPORTANT: Garment leather is often very thin. Apply Leather Glue especially sparingly to thin leathers to avoid «glue strike-through». With glue strike-through, the glue penetrates the leather and becomes visible as a dark spot on the upper side.

TIP: Careful and precise work pays off: the more accurately you work, the more inconspicuously the repaired area will blend into the overall appearance. While drying, it is advisable to apply light pressure to the treated area in order to achieve optimum adhesion and thus a long-lasting bond.

• Care and protection products should always be applied to a clean surface.
• Shake products before use.
• Protect products from frost and heat (+40 °C).
• Observe hazard symbols on the bottles, if present.
