Description
The steering wheel is one of the most heavily used elements in a vehicle interior. In daily contact with hands, skin oils and friction, the leather surface suffers over time from wear, fading and an increasingly dull, unattractive appearance. The leather repair kit for black steering wheels offers an effective solution for reliably restoring the colour, finish and feel of the leather.
Application
1. Cleaning
For visibly dirty leather, first clean the leather with Leather Cleaner mild. Do not work too wet in the damaged areas, as moisture penetrates there and makes the leather stiffer. If there is dirt in the grain, we recommend using the Leather Cleaning Brush.
2. Roughening, sanding
Rough areas, scratches and broken edges must be sanded with the Sanding Pad before refreshing with Leather Fresh. This process opens the pores of the leather, improving its absorption of Leather Fresh, and smooths the areas to be refreshed in advance.
3. Degreasing
The surfaces must be thoroughly degreased with the Degreaser so that Leather Fresh adheres well. This applies especially to surfaces treated with leather care products and areas that come into contact with skin, such as armrests, headrests or steering wheels.
4. Refreshing
Now dab Leather Fresh on evenly in circular motions using the supplied sponges. If possible, work from seam to seam and dry intermittently with a hairdryer. In most cases, several applications are necessary to achieve the ideal result. Even out uneven applications in between with the Sanding Pad.
5. Care
After applying the Leather Fresh colour (step 4), care/protection with Leather Care should only be carried out 24 hours later, so that the colour has sufficient time to dry.
Notes
- Before reapplying, always check for dirt first. Care and protection products should always be applied to a clean surface.
- Shake before use.
- Protect from frost and heat (+40 °C)
- Please observe the hazard symbols on the bottles
