Leather Cleaning Spirit is an excellent degreaser that does not dissolve leather colours. It is therefore used to clean and degrease a wide range of leather types.

Description

Leather Cleaning Spirit is used for degreasing in various situations. Although it is a solvent, Leather Cleaning Spirit does not dissolve colours and is therefore highly suitable for degreasing a wide range of leather types.

Areas of application:

  • degreasing smooth leather and removing residues of care products before a Liquid Leather repair or the application of Leather Fresh, so that repair products can adhere sufficiently
  • degreasing greasy areas around headrests and armrests on furniture, steering wheels, handles and gear knobs in vehicles, handles on handbags and suitcases, etc.
  • cleaning/degreasing “greasy” nubuck and suede leather in the furniture sector
  • degreasing greasy collars on jackets before washing with leather detergent
  • degreasing greasy areas before professional recolouring in a workshop

250 ml Leather Cleaning Spirit is sufficient for the usual work on a furniture suite or vehicle interior. One litre of Leather Cleaning Spirit is recommended for more extensive degreasing work or for several objects.

Application

Always test all products first in an inconspicuous area. Although Leather Cleaning Spirit does not dissolve colours, open-pore leather or overdosing can cause lightening or tide marks. A preliminary test is therefore always sensible.

Lightly moisten a clean, soft white cloth with Leather Cleaning Spirit and wipe the oily areas. After testing, single-colour smooth leather can be degreased thoroughly. On open-pore leather, only pass briefly over the leather to avoid tide marks and stains, allowing it to dry in between.

Not all grease marks can be removed completely. Areas in long-term contact with skin or hair may be too deeply penetrated by grease. Grease Remover Spray may additionally help in some cases. Seek our specialist advice for large areas or severe greasing.

After cleaning, care for and protect the leather again with a product suitable for its type.
